FAMILY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Odyssey: Harbor Mid-City and Urban Life have 15 members who will be performing in the Old Globe's rendition of The Odyssey on Fri, Sat, and Sunday (Sept. 30-Oct. 2) at the Old Globe in Balboa Park. Let's all go out and support our family members in this good work.
Make A Difference with Refugees in Our Neighborhood! San Diego Refugee Tutoring has been volunteering every Monday during the school year for the past two years. We’ve seen beautiful growth in the refugee students that we’ve interacted with. It’s a vibrant and refreshing experience for everyone involved, and we could use your help! Come this Monday, October 3 at 4:30 p.m. to Ibarra Elementary School (4877 Orange Avenue) for our Welcome back and Orientation session. We officially start tutoring again on Monday, October 10. Please visit our website and RSVP for either Monday so we know how many to expect: www.sdrefugeetutoring.com.
Harbor Family Day at Colina Park is Sunday, October 30th from 2:30 - 5:30pm. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors for an afternoon full of food, games, and fun! We'll be sharing a potluck meal together, so please bring the following by Last Name: A - F = Drinks. G – P = Side Dish. Q - Z = Dessert. Also, remember to bring a blanket and chairs to sit on!
Harbor-Wide Celebration Service Downtown Sun., Oct. 9th: The first site of Harbor Church was planted 11 years ago this fall. In order to celebrate what Jesus has done in the first 11 years and renew our vision for the city, we will not worship at Hoover on Sunday, Oct. 9th--instead, we will join every other Harbor site at the Balboa Theatre Downtown at 10 A.M. for a celebration service. Seeds Family Worship will once again lead the service for children.
The Table Project: A Social Media Networking tool that is specifically geared towards bridging our congregation with each other and eventually other Harbor sites throughout the city. It will be helpful in connecting Urban Life & Harbor Mid-City as one community of faith. As our church continues to grow, our desire is to continue to stay connected to each other, to church life events and other Harbor-wide events. On the Table Project you can also find opportunities to serve and see prayer requests from those within our church. Finally, the Table Project can serve as an online directory and will have up-to-date events on our calendar. If you would like help signing up today, please visit the Table Project booth at the end of service. A Table Project staff member can help you create a username and password and take a picture of yourself. If you would like to sign up at home, please visit: www.harborpc.tableproject.org. [NOTE: The Table Project is a closed network and cannot be viewed from anyone not part of the network. Your confidentiality is very important to us.]
UrbanLife High School and College Group Small Group Leaders Needed! We are looking for people who are interested in investing in the lives of students in our neighborhood through a small group. Leaders will be asked to commit to regular program attendance to facilitate discussion and scripture investigation with a regular small group of students. Content will be centered around a short teaching time for the night with a larger group of students.
